Thanks for this useful post - we've been staying in Arenys de Mar and Santa Susanna in the coastal Maresme county north of Barcelona. The "good banks" (those with no fees) only seem to have a presence in the county capital (Mataró) or Barcelona city itself. We settled for a Sabadell cash withdrawal on our Starling account, which has a €1.80 fee and it was easy to accept the transaction in Euro so we got the Starling exchange rate. Upshot was we got €100 for £90. BBVA wanted a fee of €7, Santander €4, Bankinter €3.95 and the awful Euronet machine £3.99 and an exchange rate of almost 1:1.
