I'm a graduate of Auburn University and have spent more than 30 years reporting about everything from sports to courts, lifestyles to business, politics to pastries, and technical to travel. My home office is on Plash Island in Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA, but you won't find me there very often. How to Get Your Sea Legs This is my award-winning blog that chronicles my adventures sailing the world for a year on a 43-foot sailboat—a journey that included an Atlantic Ocean crossing, epic battles with seasickness, remarkable wildlife encounters, and amazing destinations explored along the way. The blog made Feedspot’s list of the best sailing blogs of 2019 and 2020. I am the author of the ebook "How to Sail with Dogs — 100 Tips for a Pet-Friendly Voyage," and also have authored three books on Modern Manufacturing.
