Why You Should Travel to a Foreign Country

I recently came back from a 6 week trip to China. I explored Nanchang and got to see the Tengwang Pavilion as well as so many other crazy things. Before that, I had traveled to over half the States and I loved traveling. I had even been on a cruise and spent a few hours in Mexico and some time on a beach in Grand Cayman Islands. But other than that I had never really been outside North America.

I think everyone should travel to a foreign country once in their lifetime. Being in a new place where no one speaks your language, everything is even written in another language (menus at restaurants!), and the food and customs are different definitely brings you out of your comfort zone. But it's totally worth it to get to try new foods, meet new people and see some amazing things!

Culture shock is real! But once it wears off (took me about a week!) the only thing left is a love for the place you are in. It builds your confidence in ways you never thought possible.
