We took part on 6 of them, held on a specific date of the month, here's the details of all of them!
Handcraft Markets
Kitayama Craft Garden
This market is held on 1st Sunday of every month at Garden of fine arts of Kyoto.
Held from 10:00 to 16:00 with 40 to 60 stands, is easily accessible thanks to Kitayama subway station.
It is close to Kyoto's botanical garden, so you can also have a pleasant walk among the greeneries.
Heianraku-ichi Market
This market is held on 2nd Saturday of every month at Okazaki park, in front of Heian shrine.
Held from 10:00 to 16:00, features around 250 stands, with handmade goods of every kind.
During weekends, the area attracts many visitors thanks to Heian shrine and Kyoto city zoo in the nearby.
Tezukuri-ichi Market
This market is held on 15 of every month at Chion-in temple.
Held from 8:00 to 16:00, features over 300 stands with handmade food and ethnic products.
Kamigamo Handcraft Market
This market is held on 4th Sunday of every month at Kamigamo shrine.
Held from 9:00 to 16:00, the market features more than 250 stands with handmade food,
jewelry and goods of every kind exposed along a small river, where kids have fun during the hot summer.
Flea Markets
Kobo-san Flea Market
This market is held on 21 of every month at To-ji temple.
Held from 8:00 to 16:00, this is the biggest market in Kyoto, with large crowds gathering among a thousand of stalls.
The exploration requires more than two hours, with many temples to visit in the area.
Tenjin-san Flea Market
This market is held on 25 of every month at Kitano shrine.
Held from 6:00 to 21:00, a thousand of stalls are disposed in and around the temple, selling second hand kimono and pottery.
Food and vegetables stalls are also available.
