Cape Hillsborough Sunrise

Sunrise with the Native Wildlife

If you enjoy spending time in nature, in particular love to start your day off in spectacular fashion, then make sure you add the Cape Hillsborough Nature Park Sunrise to that must do list. The amazing spectacle is best captured early morning, and we do mean early. If you plan to arrive just before sunrise you will witness the Eastern Grey Kangaroos and Agile Wallabies that come to greet the sunrise on the beach.

Make sure your camera is charged as you’ll be kicking yourself if you miss the picture perfect photo opportunity.

Where

Located just a 45 minute drive north of Mackay, Cape Hillsborough Nature Park offers some of the most stunning views, whilst you enjoy some of the best walking tracks through the Eucalypt Forrest that lead straight off the beach.

Walking Tracks

We chose The Andrew Point Trail. It requires a general level of fitness, but of course you can take your time as it will give you more chance to take in the brilliant views. Along the track, the Turtle Lookout is perfect to spot turtles and you may even be lucky enough to see the migrating whales that put on a gorgeous early morning show. (During migrating months)

Accommodation

Cape Hillsborough Nature tourist Park offers reasonably priced accommodation in the form of Huts, Cabins and Unpowered and powered sites for tents/caravans/motor homes etc.

Do not miss this amazing experience

Cape Hillsborough offers a very up close and personal experience with our native wildlife. If you enjoy nature in its unspoiled beauty or just a great early morning workout with views to die for, make sure next time you’re on the North Coast of Australia you call in.
