Port Augusta has many interesting attractions including the Arid Lands Botanical Gardens, which is a must see. Entrance to the gardens is free. Coffee and meals are great. Port Augusta has full medical facilities and shopping supermarkets. Do something different and stay at Catninga station for a full experience of wonderful accommodation and a taste of the Flinders Ranges. The 4x4 scenic tour into the rugged ranges just behind the homestead is really rewarding with stunning views over the mountains and the Spencer Gulf. It is a dry weather 4x4 tour only as tracks are impassable in wet weather. Warm hosts with local knowledge.
