How To Save Money While Road Tripping Around Australia

Being on a budget does not mean you cannot enjoy a road trip around Australia.

So here are a few tips that will help you enjoy that Aussie road trip without breaking the bank.

Tip 1: Travel With Friends

The more, the merrier. Actually, the more friends you bring with you the more people will split the costs. This is particularly helpful if you have a long road trip planned.

Tip 2: Avoid Buying Fuel During Weekends Or Public Holidays

We guess the increase in fuel demand (due to number of people going for road trips) is the reason.

Tip 3: Do Not Overload Your Vehicle

Removing excess weight puts less strain on the vehicle, which means fuel economy. You get more kilometres out of every litre of Petrol.

Tip 4: Do Not Backtrack

Planning your routes saves you time and fuel backtracking on long drives. By planning your route, you also avoid driving through big cities, where traffic can be more congested.

Tip 5: Stay In Locations You Can Go Back To By Foot

When choosing a place to stay and park your vehicle, opt for more central areas, where it is easier for you to walk to tourist spots, shopping areas, restaurants, etc. This saves time AND money having to drive to and from the place you're spending the night in.
