If you are a history lover, León is your place to explore in one day. León city was once the capital of Nicaragua and today is one of the most important cities in the country. It has 2 World Heritage by UNESCO, the largest Cathedral of Central America, active volcanoes, the first university of the country and more.

Our guide picks you up at the lobby of the centrally located hotel in Managua or Granada City. As you take the 2 or 3-hour transfer, admire the beauty of the Nicaraguan landscape formed by agricultural plantations, volcanoes, lakes, and small villages.

The first stop is at the ruins of León Viejo. This is the place where the city was originally settled, discover the history and battles between natives and conquerors. At the same time, you see the majestic view of the Momotombo volcano rising on the shores of the Xolotlán Lake.

The tour continues to León City where the largest cathedral in Central America was built. Today, you ascend to its roof for a panoramic view of León as you discover the hidden secrets of its design. Walk the Central Park and main surrounding buildings as the Museum, University, and local market meeting the locals in their daily life.
