At Bergen Railway Station you meet the guide and the tour starts with the scenic Bergen Line to Voss. At the railway station in Voss we find the bus that takes us to Gudvangen and in the summer months the bus runs through Stalheimskleiva, the 1.5 km long road section that winds down Nærøydalen from Stalheim.
Well ahead in Gudvangen, at the bottom of the Nærøyfjord, we board the electric ship "Future of the fjord" to Flåm.The Nærøyfjord is one of the narrowest fjords in world and the trip to Flåm takes about 2 hours. The boat is battery operated, high comfort, large windows and good patio. In 2005, the Nærøyfjord was incorporated on the UNESCO World Heritage list together with the Geirangerfjord. The fjord is surrounded by high mountains and is a beautiful sight both in summer and winter.
Flåm is a charming village surrounded by precipitous mountainsides, rumbling waterfalls and narrow valleys. Here we can have lunch, visit the Flåm Railway Museum or just wander around in the busy harbour.The trip continues with the Flåm Railway which is one of the world's steepest railway tracks on normal tracks. The 20 km long train journey from Flåm to Myrdal and gives you a panoramic view of some of the wildest and most magnificent of Norwegian mountain nature, including the famous Kjosfossen waterfall. The train spends about an hour on the trip. At Myrdal station, a train changes to the Bergen Line which takes us back to Bergen and the tour ends at Bergen Railway Station.
