Khajjiar, The Mini Switzerland of India.....
Khajjiar, located near Dalhousie is a little entrancing and astounding beautiful hill station in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh at a height of 1,920 m above sea level. Khajjiar houses, frozen lake and those step farming views in mountains is a perfect place to spend your birthday. Isn't It? I feel it is one of the amazing gifts that anyone could gift to themselves. I started from Dharamshala to Dalhousie for Khajjiar as I wanted to spend my birthday amidst the snow-capped mountains. With plenty of snow during peak winters, the whole town is covered under white flakes. Khajjiar just mesmerizes its visitors with the old-world charm besides its snow-slogged peaks.
Khajjiar and the cedar trees....
Traveling from Dalhousie to Khajjiar is one of the unique experiences as it is an amalgamation of scenic pictures, dense forest, step farming, snow everywhere on the roads, serene lakes, and roadside dhabas that offers hot parathas and ginger tea. The Khajjiar roads are clean, covered under the blanket of snow with a plethora of snow viewpoints to offer. And that is why it is called the Mini Switzerland of India. Experience this amazing beauty once in your life, give yourself a daytime to just lose yourself to mountains, and get a gift of being peaceful, calm, and patient. Trust me you will never regret this decision. And, while traveling here I decided that I will not go anywhere else except Khajjiar lake because that place was covered with snow offering captive views, pine trees, and colorful houses to admire. A relaxed day something like this will not only soothes the mind but also soothes the soul.

Snow Viewpoints
One of the viewpoint.....
The viewpoints which we encounter while traveling to Khajjiar are mesmerizing, they steal your heart, the scenic views and the beautiful mountains were everything that I could ask for. There are a couple of places on the way to Khajjiar for the viewpoints or peaks to see which offers you beautiful views. You will also find few temples and there, you will see the saffron flag(‘bhagwa') hoisted which is the symbol of Sanatana Dharma or Hindu culture from times immemorial. The word ‘Bhagwa' connotes that it comes from ‘Bhagwan' meaning God. It stands for wealth, dharma, advancement, glory, knowledge, and detachment. And the combination of these six is “Bhagwa'. And the color of the flag is the same as the color at sunrise and sunset.
Bhagwa.....
Bhagwa Hoisted.....
The whole reason for mentioning all this is that it is the God who has created the entire earth and it is in our hands to make sure that we are preserving it instead of ruining it and make our time whatever we have on earth to be spent beautifully. As said in the bible, Hebrews 1:10 And: "In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.”
Another Viewpoint....
Khajjiar, you have my heart. And I am definitely coming back here again to feel and live that vibrance, happiness, and quaintness.

After seeing all these heavenly places or hopping on to these places, I finally reached Khajjiar and this place was the most beautiful place I ever saw in my life till that time. I was just admiring the beauty and capturing all the views and images I could in my heart. So, what happens is when you want to see snow badly and you are getting to see the thick blankets of snow everywhere, the experience and feeling is amazing and that is what I was wanting it at that moment of time. Thanks to all Almighty.

Khajjiar Lake
The Frozen Khajjiar Lake.....
Frozen Lake....
This majestic lake is surrounded by white flakes and the evergreen cedar trees everywhere. This lake gets frozen completely during peak winters. Covered with snow, a frozen lake, colorful houses, and resorts makes it a wonderful place for travelers who love to take a stroll on this pure frozen white lake. A vital part of the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hain was shot at this place. Khajjinag, the deity in the Khajji Temple has some legendary association with the Khajjiar lake; therefore, this lake is considered as sacred by the locals. The lake is filled with water during all seasons, and it does not require rainwater for endurance.
