Outlying Island

Some Outlying Islands are the highlights for tourists such as Tung Ping Chau (Eastern Plain Island), Po Toi Island (Nori Island), Mui Wo (Silvermine Bay) and Cheung Chau (Long Island). The most important thing I want to mention here is that ferry timetable, traveling time, location of ferry pier and fare. Some ferry service in Hong Kong reaching few Outlying Islands only provide one-time service in a day or two. Most of the days ferry services are not available. Please check out the official website of Transport Department of the local government in Hong Kong. If we skip one ship back to civilisation, we may need to end up a night to admire the beauty of nature!

Crossing the Habour

Crossing habour in Hong Kong can be a piece of cake and it can be a difficult task at all! Chossing the transportation to best fit your travel plan is very important. Here is the information will benefit you. When crossing habour, try avoid uing buses, taxi or minbus or some kind of transportation using tunnels to cross habour. Traffic jam is notoriously terrible in Hong Kong especially those tunnels crossing habours. There are two common transportations can get you to your chosen destinations fast by crossing habours. The first one is ferry (http://www.starferry.com.hk/en/home). Another one is MTR (http://www.mtr.com.hk/en/customer/main/index.html). There are good and bad of both transportation. When arriving from Wan Chai Ferry Pier, a long walk to the heart of Wan Chai and Central by bridges are required. A good point about ferry is that the fare is cheap whereas MTR charges more fare for your trip crossing the habour. The good thing about MTR is that after your MTR ride, you can reach the heart of Wan Chai and Central very quick!

Taking a Tram

Tram service in Hong Kong (https://www.hktramways.com/en/) is a great option for transportation in Hong Kong when you want to have a wonderful cultural experience and cheap fare traveling between places in Hong Kong Island. The bad point of using tram is that tram is sometimes packed because of its skinny body and its frequency not as good as MTR. Buses are the last resort as frequency ususally aorund 15 minutes for a bus to come around.Tram has a better one but we never know the customer flow at certain time period. Somehow it is unpredictable! Of course, grabbing a seat updatsirs when ridding on a tram would be the best cultural experience.

Peak Tram

Nothing can be sure about when the Peak Tram is packed or not. They have a gallery for interesting displays at Central Station and it is for free (https://www.thepeak.com.hk/en/the-peak-experience/peak-tram-historical-gallery). Fingercross for that when it is not crowded becuase it is really hard to reach the gallery when it is full of people there and it is an impossible task for that! Just want to mention two irrelevant points of interest here: (1) A good spot for photography for tram is Tramway Path from Kenndy Road which is a bit dangerous but may be worthwhile to pay a visit there. (2) Barker Road Station which can be reached from The Peak Tower (https://www.thepeak.com.hk/en)
