Cuba utilizes 2 currencies. For tourist, the Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC) also known as “cooks” is used for currency exchange. The Cuban Peso is only for locals. CUCs are available at the airport or hotel.
American credit and debit cards are blocked from being used in Cuba. If you are coming from another country, check with your bank if your card will be accepted during your visit.
