Duomo

The itinerary must start from here, from the symbolic square of the city, with the cathedral that houses the famous "Madunina". Here you will find the most institutional beauty of Milan: the Duomo, undoubtedly the most spectacular architecture in the city. It took more than 5 centuries to complete it. Gian Galeazzo Visconti inaugurated its construction in 1386. After visiting the interior, enjoy the close-up view of its 135 spiers and of the golden Madunina climbing on the roof of the Cathedral; from here you will also enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

The Gallery was built in 1865 to cover the connection between Piazza Duomo and Piazza della Scala and was inaugurated by Vittorio Emanuele II in 1867. The gallery has an enormous covering with iron and glass arches and has the shape of a cross that reaches, in the center, 47 meters in height. The gallery is a place of walking and passing both the Milanese and tourists who make the 3 turns with the heel on the balls of the bull designed on the floor as a lucky charm. Inside the gallery, in addition to high fashion boutiques, there is the 2nd 6-star hotel in the world, the famous Marchesi pastry shop and also a detachment of the Prada Foundation dedicated to Photography.

Teatro La Scala

In addition to the Duomo, the other unmistakable symbol of Milan is certainly the La Scala Theater. Designed by Giuseppe Piermarini in 1778 at the behest of Maria Theresa of Austria, La Scala is one of the world's most famous lyrical theaters. Verdi made his debut in 1839, and it still today attracts the most famous international artists. The interiors are magnificent and seeing a concert or a ballet is an experience that leaves its mark. Inside the theater there is a museum where fans can admire objects and costumes.

Via Monte Napoleone and the Quadrilatero della Moda

From Piazza della Scala, continue on Via Manzoni and you will find yourself in the famous Quadrilatero della Moda or Quadrilatero d'oro, which has helped to fuel the fame of the city as the capital of fashion around the world. Between Via Monte Napoleone, Via Manzoni, Via della Spiga and Via Verri you will enter the world of luxury and exhibitionism in Milan. Let yourself be captivated by the glitter of the boutiques and showrooms of the greatest fashion designers: browsing costs nothing!

Brera

Among the things to see in Milan in 1 day certainly can not miss the district of Brera and its famous Art Gallery. From Via Manzoni walk along Via Verdi to reach the heart of Brera, the most bohemian neighborhood in the city. This maze of narrow streets with pebbles is full of galleries, small ateliers, bars, restaurants and stalls. Its beating heart is the famous Pinacoteca, one of the most important art collections in Italy, located next to the Academy of Fine Arts of the same name, and exhibits, among others, the famous painting of Hayez's "Kiss".
