1. Don’t be afraid

The world is not a dangerous place like the media say it is. In general, people are very generous. Most of them will go out off their way to help you.

2. Get lost on purpose

The best experiences I had happened when I was spontaneous, without any plans or maps in my backpack. Talk with the local people, they will give you tips and places you’re travel agent never heard of.

3. Money

The best way to travel is with minimum cash in your pocket. It’s always better to carry international credit card. Most of the time the cash will be enough. If not, you can always use your credit card. There are ATMs everywhere.

4. Patience is important

You can’t control anything. The only thing you can control is your reactions. Things will always happen to you, wetter you want them or not. The question is how you react to them. If you missed the bus, don’t worry, another one will come soon. If you stuck in the middle of the road, use it to your advantage, explore the area, it will made your trip. Life is too short to be worried all the time.

5. There is always a way

One off the most important things you need to know is, that if you stuck, there is always a way out, always!

6. Smile to the locals

Most of the people are very welcoming and love to help tourists. If you have a problem with the locale people, there’s a good chance that it’s because of you’re body language. Come with a smile and greeting, it will always do the trick. 90% of people react positively to a loosen body language.

7. Leave your religion at home

The thing who blocks you from experience situations is your religion. Don’t Cary you’re religion in your backpack. Stay open minded. This is the best thing to do if you want to experience and understand other religions and cultures.

8. Slow down

Don’t push many countries into a small period of time. Try to stop and smell the roses. The best experiences happen when you take the time to explore.

9. Don’t plan too much

It’s good to have an idea, but not more than that. Too much planning kill the spontaneity.

10. Stay open minded

One of the most important things to remember is to stay with open mind and except different cultures and traditions, even if they are very different from yours. It’s arrogant to think that your way of life is better than someone else’s.
