Gunung Gede Pangrango Stratovolcano with this active status is located in these 3 districts, Bogor, Cianjur and Sukabumi, West Java, Indonesia, which are the richest with the type of flora.
There are several locations of interesting objects to visit :
Blue Lake
A small lake measuring five hectares (1,575 meters above sea level) located 1.5 km from the entrance of this national park, this lake always looks blue in the sun, because it is covered by blue algae.
Cibeureum Waterfall
A waterfall that has a height of about 50 meters is located about 2.8 km from the entrance of the national park, around the waterfall can see a kind of endemic red moss that can only be found in the West Java region.
Natural Hot Springs
Its position is 5 kilometers walking from the entrance to the national park.
Kandang Batu (stone cage) and Kandang Badak (rhino cage)
A place for camping activities and observing plants and animals, which are at an altitude of 2,220 meters above sea level with a distance of 7.8 km or 3.5 hours walking from the entrance of the national park.
Mount Gede's peaks and craters
Panoramic views of sunset and sunrise, stretches of the city of Bogor, the city of Cianjur and the city of Sukabumi are very clearly visible from the summit of the great mountain Pangrango, interesting natural attractions and observations of typical plants around the crater three craters that are still active in one complex, namely Lanang crater, Ratu crater and Wadon crater which are at an altitude of 2,958 mdpl with a distance of 9.7 km or 5 hours walking from the entrance of the national park.
Suryakencana Field
Suryakencana Field is a 50-hectare plain covered with edelwies that are at an altitude of 2,750 meters above sea level with a distance of 11.8 km or 6 hours walking from the entrance of the national park.
The unique and distinctive state of nature that has made this national park a place of research since ancient times, it is noted that this mountain has been made a book called the mountain flora of java in 1972, which before this book was published there have been several studies that are the basis the preparation of the book includes: in 1819, C.G.C. Reinwardt as the first person to climb Mount Gede, then followed by F.W. Junghuhn (1839-1861), J.E. Teijsmann (1839), A.R. Wallace (1861), S.H. Koorders (1890), M. Treub (1891), W.M. Docters van Leeuwen (1911); and C.G.G.J. van Steenis (1920-1952).
There is never a sense of boredom from every place that will be visited in this national park, because it will always offer stories and sensations that are always different. When this foot reaches the earth of Mount Gede Pangrango, there will be a sense of attraction and curiosity.
To reach the location of Gede Pangrango National Park by car can be reached through the Jakarta Bogor Cibodas route with a time of around 2.5 hours (± 100 km), or Bandung Cipanas Cibodas with a time of 2 hours (± 89 km), and Bogor-Salabintana with time 2 hours (52 km).
