The Best(?) of Paris

From the Left Bank

As tourists, we have spent 21 days in Paris. 20 of those days were a big mistake. All in all, Paris is a dud, a waste of travel time and a lot of money. . Our first trip to the EU was a week in London (Christmas week). Our second trip to the EU was the following Easter for a week in Paris. We now wish we had never gone back, but for a variety of reasons we did, but I would note that we had no choice for several of those trips because we were taking river cruises that started with days in Paris.

Our best advice on visiting Paris is don't go to Paris. Go to Prague.

The Top Sights of Paris
1] Get out of Paris. Take the suburban train to Versailles (a proper visit to Versailles takes 3 days).
2] A bus (coach) tour of Paris will get you all the highlights
3] Walk the streets of the Left Bank. The large Louvre Place sticks out like soar thumb on the Right Bank. Go across the river.
4] St Chapell (interior) on the Ile de Cite
5] La Defense
6] Views of Notre Dame from the Left Bank
7] The canals
