Museum of Korean Stone Art

Today I decided to go to a special museum in the north of Seongbuk-gu. The Korean Stone Art Museum is the perfect calming get away from the city, while also having an amazing view! I took a small bus to the final stop through the neighborhood of Seongbuk-gu and paid 7,000 Korean won for entry. There is also an option to get a one-year pass to the museum for 10,000 krw. There are three floors of exhibitions inside with lots of translated information and different types of stone art.
The highlight is the outside exhibits! There is an amazing view of the city where the statues are, also many different exhibits. An area of the special Jeju statues, and Buddha statues as well. I felt like I learned a lot by looking around and seeing the historical statues and differing time periods. There were a few people around at the museum but I only saw one group and two ladies. I was able to walk around outside for about 30 minutes. I preferred the outside portion of the museum too!

I stayed at the museum for about an hour, it's not open on Mondays or open later in the day so I suggest coming for an early afternoon. There are also two temples in the area that are very pretty and peaceful. Make sure to dress warmly for the winter in this area! Be prepared for a quiet and peaceful time outside!
